I’m Sanam Pakuwal, a software engineer and technical lead at Singapore Ecommerce App Pte. Ltd. I design distributed .NET systems, tune SQL Server and PostgreSQL, and lead the team’s work on AI features that run in production.

Background

I started in March 2019 at Pratham IT System, as a developer, QA manager and DBA on FinAstra, a cooperative core banking platform used by more than 450 institutions. Doing all three jobs at once is why I look at a system end to end: the query plan, the test that catches the regression, and the code in between.

I joined Singapore Ecommerce App in April 2023. There I rewrote the public product API as a new service with the same wire contract, moved product search onto OpenSearch (from 1 to 2 seconds down to under 100 ms), and led the move from one region to multi-region. I became technical lead in August 2026, and I now own architecture decisions, code review standards and the platform’s AI adoption.
